Dream/Reality

How do we know that we are living in reality and not a dream?

This is one of the questions made based on the latest movie, Inception. If you have not watched that film, I highly recommend that you go watch it! It is one of the best films I have ever watched. It has a good plot, great cast and great effects. Now, do not get me wrong. This is not something like Avatar. The difference is that Inception is a movie with a good plot and a good cast supported by its great effects. While Avatar, it is a movie with a not so good plot supported by its wonderful effects. See the difference?

Now, I have to warn you, this post contains spoilers from the movie. So, if you want to watch the movie, I recommend that you stay away from this blog post....don't say I did not warn you.....

So this movie is basically about dreams. The word Inception in this movie means, planting an idea in your head through dreams. In other words, creating true inspiration of something in your head. As described in the movie, it is not impossible, it is just "bloody difficult". The idea cannot be too complex. On the other hand, "Extraction" is stealing your secrets in your dreams. Usually in a dream, a person's secrets are locked up in a bank vault.

The actors in this movie play different and crucial roles for every single job.

1)Leonardo Dicaprio plays Dominic Cobb, the extractor. He is the leader of the team and the one in charge of stealing secrets from the subjects for his clients.

2)Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Arthur, the point man. He is the man responsible for researching on the background info of his targets.

3)Ellen Page plays Ariadne, the architect. She constructs the world of the dream and teaches the dreamer how to do it.

4)Tom Hardy plays Eames, the forger. He impersonates identities of people and adopt their physical form in the dream.

5)Ken Watanabe plays Saito, the tourist. He hired Cobb to perform an inception on his enemy's son and assits them in the mission.

6)Dileep Rao plays Yusuf, the chemist. He makes the chemical compounds for the team to sustain the dreams.

7)Cillan Murphy plays Robert Fischer, the mark/subject. The team's target for inception

8)Marion Cotillard plays Mal, the shade. She is Cobb's wife but committed suicide.

9)Michael Caine plays Miles, Cobb's father-in-law and mentor. He was the one who taught Cobb how to navigate people's minds.

You create the world of the dream. You bring the subject into the dream and they fill it with their secrets.

There are quite a lot of terms in the movie related to dreams like limbo, totem etc. Limbo is unconstructed dreamspace. It feels like reality but it is not reality. People stay in limbo when they start treating limbo as their reality. They do not want to wake up from it.

Totem is a unique object that a person possess. Only he or she knows all the intimate details of it and is impossible to reconstruct in the dream world. Cobb's totem is a spinning top. It will continue spinning without stop in the dream world and vice versa.

Cobb has once been in limbo and stuck there for almost 50 years( in the dream) which is about a few hours in reality. In dreams, your brain functions faster than in reality, thus time passes much faster in dreams. As such, he is unable to differntiate which is reality and which is a dream without the help of his totem.

The ending is the one that sparked off lots of discussions, theories of netizens. At the end, Cobb and his team of extractors all wake up in the plane and all of them looked at Cobb, giving him the look which says "Job Well Done". Cobb goes home and reunites with his children but he spun his totem on the table. He did not get a chance to see if it stopped as he was distracted. Before we could find out anything, the screen blanked. Cliffhanger.

Some say that he is still stuck in limbo while others say he is in reality. It really depends on how you see it. I feel that he has come back to reality since the top wobbles at the end.(it has always spin perfectly in dreams)

So,am I in reality? Are my friends projections? I do not know. I do not have a totem to tell me. I could be living in a dream but in reality I am in coma lying somewhere. But reality can also be based to one's choice. If I am comfortable in where I am, I would say I am in reality.

I am going to watch this movie for a 3rd time soon. FYI, I watched The Dark Knight 3 times too. I am now a fan of Christopher Nolan's films. His next one would most probably be the 3rd Batman sequel in 2012. Do not miss this film or you would regret it!

Educating our children

This topic may seem a little bit far-fetched from the viewpoint of a student, but knowledge in this topic is crucial not only in the future, but also for the present.

I got inspiration for this topic from my parents. Apparently from what I have observed, parents love to use their own life experiences and somehow instilling it in us, desperately trying to make us a copy of them. How many of you have faced canning by your parents? I believe there is a good number of us who have that kind of experience. I got curious on why parents love the rod so much that they use it so often to solve problems when we are being taught that violence is not the solution to all problems. Finally, I found the reason. Our parents were canned by our grandparents, which actually was one of the most effective discipline methods during that time. So, they think that it also works for us.

However, they neglected one very important thing, time. As time progresses on in our life, we get exposed to different things which contributes to the building of our thoughts and feelings. Like right now, if my parents still use canning as punishment for me, I would feel that they are very unreasonable. I am a teenager. I have my own pride, thinking etc. If you choose to use the rod on me, the consequences would be dire. I might turn even more rebellious. I am not a kid who just obey and succumb to the use of the cane everytime. I also want to voice my thoughts and exercise my freedom of speech. I am not lamenting on my parents, but just offering parents the thoughts of a teen.

Have you ever feel that your parents are trying to make everything in your life seem so perfect and prepared? Then later, you discover that is not the kind of life u want. I really dislike the fact that sometimes parents plan out your entire life but you do not like it and you are scared to tell them. I had that experience before. My parents tried making me a sports kid. But when they discovered that I had no talent at all, I could tell they were disappointed. I made my dad disappointed for a second time when I decided to quit NCC.

I did not take after my dad, who was out-going,enthusiastic etc. Instead, I got his height. You may feel that all of these are irrelevant. But, I feel that parents should not interfere with their children's life. Instead they should be their guiding light, giving them the correct advice etc to experience going on a journey to discover who you really want to be. Let them make their own decisions and experience what it feels like in discovering themselves. I feel that it would definitely be more meaningful for both the child and the parent.

Parents, you may think that I am questioning your ability to discipline and educate your children. On the other hand, I feel that you all should take this opportunity to reflect on your ways. Making changes can lead to good results in children's lives like in forms of thinking and perspective.

Why do schools deny students of the chance to watch the World Cup?

Well, Spain won! Congratulations to all Spain fans(which includes yours truly)! Next stop, Brazil 2014!

However, I would not have been able to catch the final match without my school principal, Dr Hon, accepting the petition of the student council to start school one hour later. Right here, I would like to thank those who helped us, HCI students, to let us watch the world cup finals. It would not have been possible for us to watch it.

But not all of the students in Singapore are as fortunate as us. So far, I know that our school is the only one which accepted this decision. Other schools' principals claimed that this would result in a shortage of curriculum time. They are very reluctant and unwilling to make this decision. However, they did not consider the fact that World Cup is something that only occurs once every four years. The chance to watch it is very rare. Four years ago, I could have watched the finals but I missed the chance. So, I made it a point not to miss it this year.

The number of soccer fans are constantly increasing, even among students. There is also no age limit in watching soccer matches. Students should also get to enjoy and immerse in the atmosphere of soccer fever, especially for an international event that occurs once every four years. Do we have to be part of the working force in order to enjoy the world cup? Do we need to have to power to take leave to enjoy world cup?

This is an appeal to all schools' principals. Please also think in the shoes of students. We also want to watch the match. Why must we stay in our rooms while bearing the temptation of shouts like "GOAL!!!"? Do we have to face this misery every four years? Please spare a thought for us students, as we are also human.

Holidays for fun or homework?

According to my clock, I have only 7 hours and 52 mins left of my holidays before I step back into school. Sigh, why do holidays pass so fast? While I was reading the newspapers just now, I saw a letter written to the Straits Times Forum regarding the issue of whether Holidays should be free from homework and books. I personally feel that this particular issue concerns most of us as students.

If u have asked your parents about their school life, they would probably answer that they loved it. My parents even encouraged me to enjoy my school life instead of being so stressed out about homework. I am sure that every student wants to enjoy and have a wonderful memory about their school life when they leave. No one wants to remember how stressed out they were in school. Everyone wants to have fun in whatever they do.

Now, if you ask me, I would tell you that holidays are meant as a break for students(with the exception of September Holidays). They should enjoy and relax themselves instead stressing on how to complete their homework on time. Students should get to do things that they did not have time for during school days like learning new skills etc. Teachers should really not give homework. Instead, students can go on their own revision during holidays but it cannot be more than what you can take during normal school days. This can help students to improve their self-discipline in a way. Holidays should never be used only to complete your homework and get even more stressed. This can also prevent students from rushing out everything on the last day and go to school like a zombie( which I bet many would be in a state similar).

Holidays should also be used to improve family relationships and friendships. Take the time to meet up with your primary school friends or go on a vacation with your family. Take a break.

The bottom line is homework should never be a part of holidays at all. Holidays are for fun right?

Home learning Task 2

1)Point of View(P.O.V.): This poem is depicted through a first person point of view who is the soldier. This soldier is currently going through war. This can be shown in parts of the poem like “My heart is pumping adrenalin through all of my veins”, “I run as fast as I can through the lead rain” and “I kept pulling the trigger and reloading and pulling some more”. These evidences clearly show that the soldier feels nervous and scared as he is trying to find cover from all the bullets fired. He is also trying to defend his own life by firing back at the enemies. This clearly demonstrates that the poem is written in the point of view of a soldier. Being a soldier who has once gone through war, the poet’s experiences would make this poem more reliable in depicting the life of a soldier and the horrors of war. By using this point of view, the readers would be able to picture the battlefield clearly in their minds and would understand the feelings of this soldier, at the same time making it more realistic.

2)Situation and Setting: This poem is set during a war and the emotional conflict in a soldier. The soldier and his platoon mates feel helpless and reluctant. They cannot back out as shown “We’re leaving this bird whether we like it or not”. The only way for them to survive is to fight back as shown in this phrase, “I kept pulling the trigger and reloading and pulling some more”. The soldier feels helpless and does not want to participate in the war, yet he has no way out. They are being “pushed into their graves”. The poet is trying to convey the message that war is bad and horrible as it messes with people’s lives and emotions.

3)Language and Diction: The poet uses a lot of army slang such as “the LZ is hot”, “Lock N Load and grab your shit” so that he can paint a clearer picture in the readers mind while reading or analysing the poem. American soldiers use a lot of army slang when they were soldiers as it is part of their culture.

4)Personal Response: Although I have not been recruited into the army(which I would be in 4 years or so), I can empathise and feel how it is to be a soldier in a battlefield. Picking up a gun and firing it can change the life of a person. You would not feel that guilt when you kill a person with a gun. People are forced to fight for their lives and humanity’s ugly side would be exposed. The common feeling of youngsters is that picking up a machine gun, being a sharpshooter is cool. But I guarantee you that once you have experienced something like what the soldier in the poem experienced, you would beg to differ. War is not good.

Home learning Task 1

We slept with our boots on by Steve Carlson

They unloaded the dead and maimed right before our eyes
They washed out the blood, we loaded our ruck’s and then took to the skies
Over the mountains, villages, and valleys we flew
Where we would land we had not a clue
Bullets are flying, the LZ is hot
We’re leaving this bird whether we like it or not
30 seconds they yelled, Lock N Load and grab your shit
Get ready to go and make it quick
My heart is pumping adrenalin through all of my veins
I run as fast as I can through the lead rain
The noise is tremendous, terror I can’t define
The only reason I survived that day was divine
I kept pulling the trigger and reloading and pulling some more
You do what you have to do, with that I will say no more
We fought from the valleys to the mountain peaks
From house to cave, to car to creek
Dirty and tired and hungry and scared
We slept with our boots on so we were always prepared
Those majestic mountains so steep, so high they kiss the skies
The Hindu Kush has changed so many lives
Up the mountains with heavy loads we trod
Who knew hell was so close to God
Beauty and terror are a strong mixed drink
So we drank it like drunkards and tried not to think
Good men and bad men, Mothers lost son’s
Everyone loses their innocence when they carry guns
Washed in the blood, and baptized by fire
I will never forget those who were called higher
They say blood is thicker than water, well lead is thicker than blood
Brothers aren’t born they’re earned. In the poppy fields, the tears, and the mud
And when I get to heaven to Saint Peter I will tell
Another Paratrooper reporting for duty sir, I spent my time in hell

I found a brief biography of Steve Carlsen on the internet. Steve Carlsen was born and currently lives in Dowagiac Michigan. He was recruited the United States Army in October 2000 and went through Infantry Basic Training, and Airborne School in Ft. Benning Georgia. He then reported to D Company 1st battalion 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment. 82nd Airborne Division in Ft. Bragg North Carolina. In November 2001, he was deployed to Kosovo as part of peace keeping operations. He was deployed to Afghanistan in December 2002 where he participated in combat operations. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 2003. He currently attends Southwestern Michigan College where his professor, Dr Michael Collins inspired him to write about his experiences when he was in the army. (Source: http://www.warpoetry.co.uk/2010warpoetry.html)

This poem is based on Steve Carlsen’s war experience in Afghanistan and his feelings. The poem also depicts the scenes and life of a solider during war time. The first 5 lines show the soldier getting ready to land for his operation. He feels clueless about where to land. He unwillingly lands in the middle of a battlefield and dashes for cover from the bullets. The soldier feels scared, terrified and fires back to defend his life. The poem continues to show how the soldier and his platoon mates fought in different terrains and their feelings of fear. They also make sure that they were prepared at all times. It also show that once a person takes up a gun to kill and witness deaths, he or she will be changed completely. That person would not possess any innocence and fear of death.

Reducing Chinese's weightage in PSLE

Recently, Ministry of Education(MOE) has revealed that they may reduce the weightage of Chinese in PSLE as part of their new plan to promote bilingualism and chinese. About sometime ago, Minister Mentor Lee said to the press that whatever they have done was wrong. Now, MOE is working to create a new plan such that Chinese would not be neglected in Singapore and Singapore students can reach the goal of bilingualism. Many citizens wrote in to the Straits Times to express their relief on Minister Mentor Lee's decision.

Personally, I feel that reducing the weightage of chinese in PSLE is a wrong decision. This would make them further from their goal. Students would interpret it as more emphasize is being put on English, Maths and Science and they would not study for Chinese or pay attention in class.

Students who were able to score well in chinese would be affected as they could be relying on chinese to pull up their grades. Students who do not score well in english would also be affected. This move is a bit selfish. Shouldn't students who do not score well in english have their weightage of english in PSLE be reduced? Those students who can score in chinese but not in english would have to worry about their grades being jeopardised. After that, we would have another problem from the crowd of students who just can't get good marks for english. Actually, I would fall under that category.

Parents who want their children to actually do well in chinese and english would be shocked to hear this piece of news. This is bringing their children further away from their goal. Education is supposed to be holistic. Students are to be exposed to all subjects of equal weightage to train them in different aspects. By doing this, students may not care about chinese at all.

In conclusion, I feel that reducing chinese's weightage in PSLE is a bad move.

Should Dialect be taught in school?

Dialect is part of us, part of our culture. Our dialect originates from our hometown, where our ancestors came from before settling down in Singapore. There are about a number of different dialects in the world, among them the famous ones were Hokkien, Cantonese, Teochew etc.

This topic was raised years ago during one of the Prime Ministers' National Day Rally. I remembered that it was mentioned if no further action was taken, dialect might be lost in Singapore. Ok, maybe only Hokkien would be left. But, this would also mean that we have forgotten our roots.

Singapore government, ironically, censors all hokkien dialogue on TV and only allows English and Chinese. Even songs on the radio must also only be English and Chinese. This promotes bilingualism but at the same time, people gets less exposure to dialect.

There is also a sterotypical view of people that anyone who speaks hokkien instead of english and chinese is a gangster, or "chao ah beng" in hokkien. These people are being viewed as uncultured, uneducated, rude and useless people who just gets involved in gang fights and being a bully. This is entirely not true. It could be the tone that the person uses to speak hokkien. This view also indirectly caused the downfall of dialect in Singapore as parents are instilling thoughts to their kids that you would be a good for nothing gangster if you start to speak hokkien or other dialects. Ironically, we often see our parents use dialect to communicate with out grandparents.

I feel that there should be a special programme for dialect, just like in our school we have BSP. It can be like a third language for students and they just learn for extra knowledge with no tests and exams. This can help promote dialect among the younger generation. Other than that, in this programme histories of the different hometown should also be taught to students such that they can understand their roots better. This also fufills our school's philosophy, 饮水思源。

As a 40% hainanese, 40% teochew and 20% hakka, I feel that I should also start to learn these dialects as it is part of who I am. At the same time, I can improve my hokkien and cantonese. Dialect should not be lost in Singapore. As much as you may disagree with me, it should be promoted like singlish as they are our culture.

Financal Literacy for students

Finanacal Literacy is one of the most important life skills that everyone should have, including students. Although this is not taught in school, I feel that it should have been a subject taught in school.

These days, most students spend more than they can save, sometimes they even exceeded their pocket money. My parents use to tell me to always save for a rainy day, which is true since life is always unexpecting. But, I have to admit it is hard to have the determination to save money due to factors like peer pressure, temptations etc. I use to spend a lot of money when i was young, especially on toys. My thinking used to be like if something costs 100 dollars, it is only 2 50 dollar notes. Only when I grow up, then I realised things are not so simple.

Managing your money is one of the things we would all do in future as more and more burdens fall onto our shoulders. Nobody would want to be in debts, everyone wants to live a carefree life. However, due to lack of financal literacy and money management skills, more and more people are getting tied to debts after coming out for work. These people would spend money paying off endless debts.

Just like the saying goes, don't work for your money, let your money work for you. Never become a slave to debts.

Some countries like China started teaching their students about financal literacy. I feel that Singapore should also teach it to students. This is an important life skill, you would need it even till the day you die. It is the same thing like teaching moral values in school through moral education. If we can manage our money well, life would become more smoother for us.

Some people may disagree with me. If a person is rich, he or she may feel that why do I need to know financal literacy when I am loaded? Even if my parents are gone, I still have the inheritance. Sad to say, they will squander it all off even before they even know it. Ironically, even you are rich, you still need to know financal literacy and money management skills to get the most out of this huge amount of money.

It may seem boring but essential. Think about it. Nobody wants to hear a 1 hour lecture on moral values too. It is for life.

Impact of casinos in Singapore

Casinos in Singapore, after hearing that questions about Singapore's ability to have 2 casinos should fill your mind. One example would be "Does Singapore have enough space?" Another would be "I thought Singapore was a sort of conservative country, since when did the government changed their mindsets?" However, many were proven wrong. Singapore will have 2 casinos as part of the two Integrated Resorts(IR). Casinos have both pros and cons in society.

The pros of having casinos is that it helps to contribute to Singapore's economy and tourism. Once we have a casino in Singapore, more tourists from different countries (including our neighbouring country Malaysia) would flock to Singapore to gamble. This would contribute to our country's tourism as the number of tourists would increase as time goes by. This can also help to contribute to Singapore's economy as more people would pay huge amount of money to gamble. That also includes locals. People do not just bring only about 200 dollars to gamble. They bring about 1000 dollars or more. Tourists and gamblers spend lots of money to gamble. These bring good economic impacts to Singapore.

The cons of having casinos in Singapore is the social impacts it results in. By building casinos in Singapore, the number of obsessive gamblers would increase. More families would be broken too. The entrance fee of 100 dollars was imposed to discourage people from entering the casino, however, I feel that it does not work for all people. Firstly, as I have said, they bring a huge amount of money to gamble so 100 dollars would be seen as nothing. It would only be seen as obstacle when these gamblers are desperate, short of cash. Here a problem would come. They would start borrowing from loan sharks and the debt starts accumulating. This would affect their families and might resulting in it being broken. Although Singapore government does put up advertisements for people to seek professional help, how many would even bother to pick up the phone to dial the number? One effective solution would be the ban that families can apply for their family member. This can help to prevent these people from gambling and creating more problems.

In conclusion, I feel that gambling can be treated as a recreational activity but not excessively. I am sure the government wants the casino to have a positive impact on the country instead of a negative one. Nobody wants their country to be known for having a great number of excessive gamblers because of a wrong decision.

Teaching Chinese in Singapore

Chinese, chinese and more chinese. The subject that has been bothering more and more students, chinese. Everytime we hear complains from parents about their children being very stressed about studying and getting good grades for chinese. The bilingual policy was implemented by Lee Kuan Yew when he was still a prime minister( correct me if I am wrong). At that time, there were families with children who had difficulties with chinese emigrated to other countries like Australia. Their reason, they did not want their children to live in "misery" anymore. A mother even voiced out her opinion out to the forum of the Straits Times.

However, those people who are good in chinese said that these people are running away from reality as a solution to the problem. They just cannot see eye to eye. The issue of bilingualism in Singapore have been raised for many years. Arguments, arguments and more arguments. Recently, Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew decided to change the policy by using english to teach chinese for the benefit of those students who had difficulty studying chinese. People cheered and some said that Minister Mentor Lee has finally corrected his mistake after so many years.

I feel that using english to teach chinese is a feasible solution to those with poor chinese results. It may make chinese an easier subject to these pupil as an encouragement for them not to give up. The exams can also be made easier too. However, this does not benefit the crowd with good chinese results. They would think that the lessons are boring, teachings of the basics over and over again. They can also ace the exams easily. There should be another class set up for these students with a teacher to teach separate things. Exams should also be set to their standard to make sure that they benefit from learning.

The Ministry of Education is launching their education plan of chinese to the public this month. More parents are curious about their child's learning of chinese. Everyone wants to know what are the changes made, including me.

So what are your thoughts? Leave a comment! Thank you

The Two Integrated Resorts

Well, as we all know, there are two integrated resorts which are opening facility by facility. It may sound weird, but that's what they are doing. When I first heard about building these resorts in Singapore, I was both happy and curious. Happy because I can save the air ticket money to go to a universal studios theme park. Curious because I was wondering where the Singapore government is going to get land to build these.

I am sure I am not the only one who feels that way. But when these resorts offically open to the public, other attractions would be challenged. One good example would be the Escape Theme Park. Escape Theme Park is the only theme park in Singapore before Wild Wild Wet and Universal Studios come in. The rides are not very thrilling(to me) and Downtown East has removed some of the rides in the theme park. I am speaking from personal experience. I just went there with my friends last December and we pratically finished all the rides in an hour. The best rides were only the go-kart and the wet and wild.

I feel that Escape Theme Park need more thrilling rides and not just the existing ones. Even when my friends heard that I was going to Escape Theme Park, they were like " Oh My God!!! Why are you going there? The rides are lame!Save your money for Universal Studios next year." I have to admit I felt it was a bit lame too. It needs to improve in order to stand up to the challenge.

However, it does have some good points like cheap ticket fares, nostalgic feeling etc. Wild Wild Wet is fun, the water slides and the rides are much more fun and better than Escape Theme Park. Downtown East has got to do something about it.

Another issue would be that since the two IRs(integrated resorts) are opening about the same time this year, there would be fierce competition. The Marina Bay Sands Resorts main attraction would be the casino, while the attractions of the Resorts World Sentosa is Universal Studios, Casino etc. As you can see, there are more attractions for Resorts World Sentosa as compared to Marina Bay Sands( correct me if I am wrong). People like me would think that Resorts World Sentosa would definitely win in the competition, but it is actually too early to say anything. The resorts have not even opened offically. It is also a bit exciting to see two giants compete with each other. This would also mean more improvement which eventually benefits the public. So stay tuned!

What are your thoughts and feelings? If they are different, post them in the comments page now!

Task B- Intrapersonal

Who would you want to be friends with in the novel? Explain.

I would want to be friends with Atticus. In the novel, he is portrayed as a man of moral values and courage. He stood up for Tom Robinson in the novel despite facing huge amount of criticism and pressure from the people around him and his family members. However, he stood with his beliefs till the end and he did not succumb to anybody or anything at all. Just this point alone is enough to earn my respect.

Atticus is also portrayed as a capable and reliable man in the novel. During the part where a mad dog attacks Maycomb, Calpurnia called Atticus instead of Heck Tate, the sheriff. Heck Tate even passed his gun to Atticus to kill the dog. Atticus was also known as "One-shot Finch". This shows that he is reliable and capable.

Yet with so many capabilities, he chose to remain humble about them and keeps a low profile. He told Heck Tate to hush when he was telling Jem and Scout about him being known as "One-shot Finch".

Atticus is impartial. He believes in racial equality. He did not despise the blacks but instead helped them, just like how he helped, protected and stood for Tom Robinson throughout the novel. He stood for what he thought was right despite the consequences and the price he has to pay.

Atticus is a man of good moral values and influence. I want to be his friend as I wish to learn his values to become a better person. When I am wrong, he can also correct me and lead me to the correct track. Atticus would also be a good friend as he is reliable and capable. He can help me in times of emergency. With so many reasons, I definitely would want to be his friend.

My Learning Profile (Task A)

Hi all, this will be my second post!!! Excited? You ought to be. This post will be about my learning profile. Not all of you may know what a learning profile is, well I am going to give a brief introduction of it now.

A person's learning profile, also known as a person's learning style, involves some factors like what are your personal strengths. This Multiple Intelligence Worksheet is an interactive worksheet which produces a Multiple Intelligences wheel based upon Gardner's eight multiple intelligences. This can help us in the journey of learning as we can identify our different personal strengths. A person has multiple intelligence. The eight different multiple intelligence are:

-Kinaesthetic - Body Smart
-Linguistic - Word Smart
-Logical - Number Smart
-Interpersonal - People Smart
-Intrapersonal - Myself Smart
-Musical - Music Smart
-Visual/Spatial - Picture Smart
-Naturalistic - Nature Smart

Can you guess what is my strength? I think for those of you who are my close friends or understand me, should be able to deduce my strengths. I shall keep you in suspense for a while.

Nevermind forget it. I will just give you the answer. Well, my strongest intelligence is intrapersonal, which means I understand a lot about myself. That is in fact quite true. Since the task now is to write out my feelings on this Multiple Intelligence Profile, get ready for it now!

Well, I always feel that I understand myself very well, ever since primary school. I use to keep a diary recording my daily school life and all the ups and downs in my life. However, as time goes by, I got a bit sick of writing diaries and the number of enteries decrease. Then blogging became popular and I prefered typing to writing. So, I turned my black-and-white diary to an online diary, which was much more convenient as I can access it from anywhere as long as there is internet connection. I can also type faster than I write, so it saves much time.

Since Primary School, I was aware of my personal strengths and weaknesses. Some examples of my strengths are chinese, maths and science. Some examples of my weaknesses are Music, English etc. Ironically, I changed my CCA to chinese orchestra as I wanted to try to take up music. I did seek help from my friends and teachers regarding the subjects that I am weak in.

I guess being intrapersonal can help me very much. Whenever I have doubts or queries, I know who to seek help regarding the subject that I am weak in and I know how to prepare myself for the subject that I am weak in before the exams. By knowing my strengths, I would know which subject to pursure for further education and which career to choose when I grow up.

So I think intrapersonal is what I am.
